COOKIES

Effective Date: January 2020

This policy details how Danoub Company (hereafter “Danoub”) uses cookies and similar technologies including web beacons, embedded scripts and e-tags (together referred to as “cookies”, unless otherwise stated) to provide users an efficient experience in using the website.

1. What are cookies and how do they work?

Cookies are small text files that are sent to your device by the websites you visit. Cookies are stored in your browser’s file directory. They are widely used by web site owners to make their web sites function efficiently according to visitors’ preferences and generally improving their experience of a website. A cookie file can contain information such as a user ID that the site uses to track the pages you have visited, but the only personal data a cookie can contain is information you supply yourself. A cookie cannot read data off your hard disk or read cookie files created by other sites. Some parts of our website use cookies to track user traffic patterns for Danoub or third parties. Danoub does this to determine the optimal performance of our website to our users and to see how effective our navigational structure is in helping users reach that information. Danoub neither connects this information with data about individual users nor does it share this information or sell it to any third party.

Depending on the type of cookies (explained in section 2) they have different expiry. Session cookies expire when you close the browser. Persistent cookies, including Local Shared Objects, have typical expiration dates ranging from two months up to a couple of years.

By using our website you accept our use of these cookies. If your browser settings are set up as ‘Do Not Track’, we will not use cookies and tracking technologies. See section four below for more details on how you can opt-out of cookies.

2. Why does Danoub use cookies?

Danoub uses cookies for a variety of reasons, including providing you the service you have requested, to enhance the performance of and analyze how our website is used and to enhance your online experience, for example, by, remembering your viewing preferences from previous use of our website. Our use of cookies falls into five categories:

Basic functions: These cookies are strictly essential for running our Websites and are the key to

providing you a seamless experience. You can navigate uninterrupted e.g. by remembering  choices you’ve made and by preserving authentication to secure parts of the domain.

Site improvement: These cookies are also known as, performance or analytical cookies, enable us to improve our website by looking at how it is used. We do analytical profiling to understand the number of visitors and how they move around the site when they are using these cookies. For instance, they allow us to understand which pages are visited most often, if they get error messages from web pages, how many users read a particular article (to know what is popular) or if a video file was viewed or abandoned halfway through. All information collected by these cookies is aggregated and therefore anonymous. We also look at where content is accessed so we know how to arrange our sites for optimal user experience.

Personalization: By remembering what choices you make and provide enhanced, more personal features, these cookies function to make the content as personalized as possible. The information these cookies collect may be anonymized and they cannot track your browsing activity on other websites. Using functional cookies we can show you targeted banners and relevant recommendations, and examine what type of reference was used to reach our sites, e.g. an email campaign or a link from a referral site. Thus, we can estimate the effectiveness of our promotions and advertising campaigns.

Advertising and marketing: These cookies are used to dynamically serve you advertising and marketing-related material tailored to you and your interests on both Danoub’s and selected third party websites. They are also used to limit the number of times you see an advertisement as well as help measure the effectiveness of the advertising campaigns. They are usually placed by advertising networks with the Website operator’s permission. They remember that you have visited a website and this information is shared with other organizations such as advertisers.
